For Parents

Mission
The Southwest Independent School District is dedicated to providing a positive district climate through direct and effective communication with parents and community members.    To promote this positive communication environment, the SWISD has developed a listing of relevant district and campus services as well as informational updates designed to increase communication between parents, teachers, students, and community members.

The Southwest Independent School District encompasses 115 miles in the southwest quadrant of Bexar County. Facilities include 15 fully air-conditioned campuses, fully-equipped gymnasiums at all levels, on-site food preparations in complete kitchens featuring computer scan cards with breakfast and lunch payment software.

SWISD is within 30 minutes of UTSA, Trinity University, Our Lady of the Lake University, St. Mary's University, and Incarnate Word. Downtown San Antonio and the Riverwalk, numerous malls, Seaworld, and Fiesta Texas are easily accessible. Many new housing options are available with city services and amenities. Excellent medical facilities are also a hallmark of San Antonio.
