Lone Finalist for Position of Superintendent for Southwest ISD Announced!
At a special Board Meeting held Tuesday, February 23, 2010, the Board of Trustees of the Southwest Independent School District named Lloyd Verstuyft as the lone candidate for Superintendent. Verstuyft has served as the Assistant Superintendent for Administration and Human Resources for Southwest since 2005 and has also held the positions of Executive Director of Administration and Pupil Services, Principal of Southwest High School, Principal of McAuliffe Junior High in the Southwest District, Assistant Principal at McAuliffe, and began his career in the Southwest ISD as a teacher and coach at McNair Junior High in 1989.
Lloyd Verstuyft graduated from Southwest High School and received his Bachelors in Kinesiology and History from UTSA and his Masters in Education from Texas A&M College Station. He is presently completing his Ed.D. in Education from Texas A&M College Station.
